Starting in May, Fargo residents can pick up free compost and wood chips to help spruce up their lawns and gardens.
When: Every Wednesday and Thursday between May 11 and June 2 from 3:30-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 7 a.m. until Noon.
Where: Compost facility, 7th Ave. N., east of 45th Street.
The Details: Residents with bags and cans much load their own compost. City crews will help load pickups and trailers. One-yard maximum. Proof of residency is required.
The compost and wood chips are located west of the Household Hazardous Waste facility, 606 43 1/2 St. N. The small pile of compost that people can access to fill their own bags or cans is located next to the scale house at the landfill, 4501 7th Ave. N.
